IMF worsens forecast for Russia’s GDP to 8.5% fall in 2022

WASHINGTON, Apr 19 (PRIME) -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised its forecast for Russia’s 2022 gross domestic product (GDP) dynamics to a fall of 8.5% from a rise of 2.8%, and downgraded the outlook for 2023 to a fall of 2.3% from a rise of 2.1%, the authority said in the World Economic Outlook published on Tuesday.

The forecast for the global economic growth was worsened to 3.6% from 4.4% for 2022, and to 3.6% from 3.8% for 2023.

The authority also increased its prediction of the average annual oil price by U.S. $29.52 to $106.83 per barrel in 2022, and to $92.63 per barrel in 2023.
